In 2015, we along with two of Lori’s siblings traveled to Chiang Mai, Thailand to help their parents relocate to a care resort there. It was then that we were introduced to ZOE International for the first time. We had known about human trafficking but something sparked in both of us to see the work that ZOE has done and continues to do rescuing and restoring the lives of these children. You can find out more about ZOE International at gozoe.org.
After returning from Chiang Mai, we were doing life as normal … working at a great company & serving at church. God started moving in our hearts about ZOE International and their mission. We began to pray and seek God to see what He was trying to tell us. We knew we were going to be visiting Lori’s parents again in July of 2016 and continued to seek God as we planned that trip. We spent some wonderful time with Dad & Mom Lin and enjoyed being with them. We had the opportunity to share in a worship night at ZOE with the children, ZOE staff & the missionary families. We were so moved and blessed by our time there and God made it very clear that we should at least apply to become full time missionaries with ZOE.
Upon returning from that trip, we began our application process. We prayed a lot, sought God and sought counsel throughout the application process. Every step of the way, God continued to assure us that this was His call for us. In November, we were officially offered positions as missionaries with ZOE. It has and continues to be a journey of faith for us. We had always thought we would be working full time and volunteering our time in church and for God. We never thought we would be headed to the mission field at this stage in our lives. We did think about going on the mission field once we retired, but God had other plans. We know that God has used every friend, colleague and the amazing people we have met along the way as well as the life and work experiences that we have gone through to prepare us for this.
Thank you to all our friends, family, and colleagues for being a part of our lives. Thank you for how you have and continue to love us.
For those of you whom, we have not met in person, we look forward to connecting with you. Please feel free to contact us. We would love to engage and dialogue with you and tell you more about ourselves and the work that we will be doing with ZOE International.
