The month of April has zipped by in a flash! Here are the highlights of our continuing journey to ZOE…
On the work front, Simpson has started training the person who will be taking over his position. There is a lot to cover but the new guy is very capable and things have been going pretty smoothly. For church, Simpson is in the process of putting his duties down on paper then transferring those to others as well.
I continue to help my friends and clients find the home they are dreaming of or sell their home but am winding things down. In my desire to make sure my clients are taken care of, I’ve partnered with some amazing friends and colleagues at Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Advantage Realty for the transition.
We got our International Driving Permit (see photo)! What is this you may ask? Basically this permit allows us to drive in a bunch of different countries. The AAA office in Honolulu issues them for a small fee and they are good for
one year. This will allow us to get around in Chiang Mai when we first arrive but we will eventually need to obtain our Thai Driver’s License. Apparently there is no road test involved for the Thai Driver’s License which is a good thing because they drive on the other side of the road and the driver sits on the right side of the car :\ We will need to adjust to this difference quickly. I’m worried more about myself than Simpson.
We are slowly purging and slimming down our possessions in preparation for the big move. We hope to fit everything we own into 4 suitcases total. As you can imagine, this process has not been easy. We were fortunate because my two brothers were able to visit my parents who are in a care resort in Chiang Mai so we sent a 50-pound box over with them. We were provided a missionary handbook that describes a list of things one may want to bring over that are either not available in Thailand or not as well made there so we filled the box with supplies (that was the featured photo), shoes and some clothing, and Simpson insisted on sending over our Cutco knives, too. We found that 50 pounds is not much to work with! Our ZOE missionary friends, Ron and Cissy, are now holding that box for us until we get there. They will also be generously hosting us when we arrive until we find our own home to rent.
As ZOE missionaries, we are responsible to help ZOE raise funds to cover our salary and other ministry related expenses. April was our first full month of raising support and, praise God, ALL the one-time funds we need to raise for this year has been met! However we ask for your prayers and for your help as the amount of monthly support we need to raise is at 15%. If you have not partnered with us financially yet, please prayerfully consider doing so. We need your help to fight child trafficking! You can visit gozoe.org/tsang or click on the link below to pledge your monthly gift.

We are so humbled and grateful for your support. “Mahalo” and thank you to each of our friends, family members and new friends who have already given or pledged to give to the work of ZOE International.
