One of the hardest things to do is say goodbye.  There are so many good friends who have been with us through so much and it’s hard to think that we won’t see them for a very long time.

As we move toward our work with ZOE, each event and interaction has had us thinking “this is our last (and you can name the event).  It’s been hard not to be able to talk about that with others as we waited to announce our leaving to go on the mission field.

We wish we could take each friend out to lunch or coffee and just listen and be with them one more time.  We don’t want any of you to doubt how very much you mean to us.

Change and transition is not easy.  Recently at a company meeting, someone very wise said, “if you don’t grow, you die”  The company’s founder and owner and our wonderful friend and mentor was referring to the amazing growth our company has and continues to experience.  That being said those words are true in so much of life.  Growth is necessary!  With it there is change and with change there is transition.

How does one navigate the transition from the business world to life as a missionary?  We are still learning what this means. There is a lot we don’t know.  But there are things that we do know and these things will help us through.  We know God has called us. We know we have good friends and family who are praying for us. We know we are in this together.  These truths will help us as we transition.

We know we will miss Hawaii.  This has always been our home.  We know we will miss our friends and family.  We carry you with us in our hearts and are thankful for technology so that we can stay in touch. Let’s make sure we do!
