Prior to joining ZOE, Lori-Ann and Simpson served the Lord by contributing in the business world while volunteering with the local church.
They both graduated from the University of Hawaii at Manoa – Lori-Ann with a Bachelor of Education in Secondary Education-English, and Simpson with a Bachelor of Business Administration.
Lori-Ann and Simpson helped to plant City Church Honolulu (the same year they were married), serving in various roles and youth-related ministries, and Simpson became ordained as an elder.
For 14 years, Simpson was on the administrative team of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Advantage Realty, a leading real estate firm in Hawaii. He developed as a servant leader from the ground up and eventually became the principal broker for the company.
Lori-Ann taught secondary education at Waipahu Middle School for 16 years before entering real estate for the flexibility it afforded to care for her parents after her father’s first stroke. She thrived as a sales professional, also at Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Advantage Realty, working diligently for her clients. As Paul Stevens writes, “all work is ministry,” a core value for Lori-Ann and Simpson.
Lori-Ann and Simpson had dreams to enter full-time ministry in their later years of life but plans changed after their visit to the ZOE home in Northern Thailand. The experience opened their hearts to respond to the call sooner than expected!
